message window

I keep receiving a message window asking for my user name
and password
for mail.google.com. It just started yesterday after I added
google
desktop. Anyone know how to get rid of it? Its becoming
quite annoying

I'd guess it has something to do with a feature of Desktop
that you
selected.  Either the ability to search your GMail along
with your
desktop, or search your computer from other locations.  If
these are
features you want, you'll have to provide your username and
password
so they can be activated.  If not, you'll have to turn off
those
features to get it to stop asking.
