This sounds similar to what I have been having trouble with.
If Gmail detects
something as spam, it will allow your personal filter to
label it but it won't
allow the archive. Instead, it sits in the spam box which
deletes it after 30
days. This may not be what is happening to you but it is
worth a try to search

Hello, When I was on yahoo I usually received spam dont get
me wrong. Maybe
about 10 or so a day. At most.. On Gmail I have anywhere
from 50 and up spam
emails a day,, I dont understand because I barely ever give
out my email.
Probably even less than my yahoo email.. On top of it all
I've had gmail for
80% less time than yahoo. Granted a lot of it is filtered -

I tried to import my Outlook Contacts csv file of 1200
contacts. During the
import process about 30 were rejected as too large (I have a
load of 'free
text' notes with these so I wasn't surprised they were
rejected. However when
