Passing coupon and gift certificate discount alongwith the cart to

Hello, Is there a way i can pass the coupon and gift certificate discount alongwith the cart to Google? In my case, customer enters the coupon / gift certificate code on the shopping cart page where the discount is calculated. I need to carry these values alongwith the cart to Google instead of using Merchant Callback. Please let me know if this is possible. Yes it is possible, if it is a fixed value for the coupon. This is described at http://code.google.com/apis/checkout/developer/index.html#l1_coupons_and_discounts I hope this helps.
