I have one google checkout button on my site.

I need to be able to easily pass one piece of user
information along
so I can associate the order when I view it via google
checkout.

what's the easiest way to do this?

Again, one google image button that links out to the order
form. I'd
love to be able to pass with the user's email address or
their unique
identifier so I can then associate their order back to their
user
record in my database - so I can then active their account.

thanks!!!

Hi,

You can use any of the following tags to suit your needs:

<merchant-item-id> tag: http:
//code.google.com/apis/checkout/developer/
index.html#tag_merchant-item-id
<merchant-private-item-data> tag: http://code.goo
gle.com/apis/checkout/
developer/index.html#tag_merchant-private-item-data
<merchant-private-data> tag: http://code.goo
gle.com/apis/checkout/
developer/index.html#tag_merchant-private-data

Hope this helps,

Thanks,
Jacob

jacob,

correct me if I'm wrong but your advice is isolated to using
the API.

I have only a google checkout button. Ideally I'd be able to
post some
information via a hidden field or some other solution.

Right now I don't beleive this is doable via your simple
checkout
button solution but it would be awesome if it were made
available.

let me know.

thx.

Hi,

You're right. The tags I mentioned (merchant-private-data,
merchant-
private-item-data, merchant-item-id) are available using the
API only.

Unfortunately, Buy Now button doesn't support this feature
at this
time.

Please feel free to add this feature in the "New
Feature Suggestions
for Google Checkout" page: http://groups.
google.com/group/google-
checkout-developers-forum/web

Thanks,
Jacob
