| Buy Now buttons Level 2 Integration? |

>From the Buy Now Button FAQ topics I can't tell whether
my server can
receive "Level 2 Integration" XML notification
messages if I use a Buy
Now Button rather than a Checkout Button.
My site sells just one item at a time, rather than a
"cart" of items;
in this respect I could use Buy Now buttons. But my server
also needs
to receive instant automated notification of purchases, for
which I
need to use the "Level 2 Google Checkout API".
If I use a Buy Now Button rather than a standard Checkout
button, can
I still receive these notifications?

Conrad,
As long as you define a Callback url in the merchant
options, you will
receive a message.
This is technically level 1 unless you wish to have Shipping
and
Discount callbacks.
You will still receive the new orders, risk messages and so
forth.

Thanks. Sounds like I can use a Buy Now Button then.
The Google Checkout Developer's Guide describes XML
notification
messages as part of Level 2 Integration in several places,
e.g.:
"Google Checkout provides two levels of integration.
You should
determine which kind of integration is right for you.
"Level 1: Receive new order notifications by email,
then use the
Merchant Center, a Google web application that lets you
manage orders
from your web browser.
"Level 2: Create a web service to handle new order
notifications and
all other order communications with Google
programmatically."
So I guess the distinction between Level 1 and Level 2 is
not
consistent.
