Google only returns the last 4 digits of a credit card
number... It's
their way of convincing consumers that they are safer with
them than
merchants. But I find that about 20% of orders generally
need some kind
of adjustment (exchange for different product, different
shipping than
what was specified, etc.) and GC offers zero support for any
edit to an
existing order (by customer or merchant).
That's a lot of checking for validity. I'm assuming you
have some
history to justify it....

Thank you for the quick response.
We do not have the blocking implemented yet because we are
still
building a database of suspected IPs, and will be constantly
updating it
as we review more and more purchases. We would like to
receive the
information before the charge as we do geo-locating of IPs
as well as
other customer verification steps before making any
delivery.
Gathering the IPs for every order will also help us block
orders from
the same IP yet different customer information; e.g. the
person with a
.txt file making and charging several accounts to see which
will charge
successfully.
We would also like to start implementing a credit card
blacklist but
will only be able to if we can get the first 4 numbers and
the last 4
numbers. If this is not an option, no big deal.
Thank you again for any help,
Eric
