Use the <merchant-private-data> tag for cart-wide
specific info (takes
any valid XML inside the tag) or
<merchant-private-item-data> for item
specific info.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [google-checkout-api-integration] API Call Back
with parameter
Please help with the following:
I would like to use the HTML API and post a dynamic
parameter, and then
have that parameter returned to me upond google checkout
completing the
transaction via the API URL callback:
When posting a purchase, is there a way for me to include a
value pair
(e.g. hidden input parameter) of a unique ID I have created
for this
purchase. The parameter would get passed to google checkout
as the user
presses the 'google checkout' button, and I would hope the
parameter
could get passed back to me upon google checkout completion,
and the API
callback taking place. Specifically, how would I pass the
parameter: could I simply add <INPUT
TYPE="hidden" name="myID"
value="myIDValue">
and would there be anyway the API URL callback could pass
the parameter
back to me:
http://www.mysite.com/gcheckout/processID.jsp?myID=m
yIDValue

Thank you.
Any way to send through the private data directly via the
google
checkout button form, without needing to go the xml route?

Robin - what is your answer in response to? I am
specifically looking
for sample form code that would allow me to pass a merchant
trasnaction id. Wondering if this can be done directly as
part of the
simple checkout button form without needing to resort to
xml. If this
can be done, please let me know what a sample 'google
checkout' button
form would look like.
Thnx

see, there is no "direct" way of passing a
merchant transaction id using
html as there is no merchant-private-data field. so what you
can do it to
add a dummy product entry priced at $0 and use it's name and
description as
a container for your transaction id.

Hi all,
You can pass merchant-private-data in the HTML API as
follows:
<input type="hidden"
name="shopping-cart.merchant-private-data"
value="MyOrder#123">
Also, check out this article on "How do I include XML
API tags in the
HTML API?" http://code.google.com/support/bin/answ

Hope this helps!
