Hi All,
I'm a silver surfer who now understands html but php leaves
me out of
my depth. I have read all of the documents, downloaded the
script
files and now my head hurts. I need my cart integrated into
Google
Cart. The cart is built in php. Can you point me in the
direction of a
php freelancer

Hi falconer,
I'm not surprised that your head hurts! I think you'll find
that's a
common complaint here on the forums, even among those of us
who have
been programming php and shopping carts for years. In my
opinion,
Google Checkout is the most complicated
checkout/order-processing
system so far.
Having said that, if you're happy to manually process your
orders
using the Merchant Centre then the amount of work needed to
format and
send a shopping cart to Google Checkout should be relatively
small,
but if you need to automatically integrate Google orders
into your
existing order-processing system then be prepared to pay a
hefty price
for it.
Integrating most previous payment-processing systems has
usually taken
me an hour or two, but I have so far spent over sixteen
hours
wrestling with Google Checkout (and their buggy code) and
I'm not
quite finished yet.

Hi Lesss,
Thank you very much for helping other people in the forum.

If possible, could you please point out the problems or
issues you've
found so we can make corrections as necessary?
Thanks,
Jacob

I have to respectfully disagree.
Google level 1 implementation was about 1.5 hours. Great.
G oogle level 2 implementation was about 3 days end to end integration with our back end systems. Although I re-used a lot of "data for google" routines in level2. .NET google API saved me 3-4 days as well
Its quite an elegant solution compared to three others that I have implemented: paypal, metcharge and locally hosted solution with Payware. Although metacharge was also cool.
