Level 1 and 2 hybrid integration

Hi everybody,

I am new to this.

I have to integrate a back-office management software with
an existing
e-commerce web site that currently uses Google checkout
level 1
(HTML).

I need to use level 2 (XML) integration in the management
software to
handle incoming / outgoing messages ( charging, delivering,
archiving
etc...)

I want to do less changes as possible on the running web
site.

Is it possible to keep the web site unchanged with its HTML
level 1
integration and to use the Google checkout API level 2 with
XML to do
the integration with the management software ?
Can I mix them together ?

Thanks by advance for your answer!
Oliver

there shouldn't be any problems receiving notifications.

but keep in mind that when you allow Google to process
unsigned carts
(as is the case with the html api) anyone can post a cart to
your
account, and that's why when using the html api it's
encouraged that
you review your orders manually.
so, you should really consider implementing the xml api if
you plan to
automate the charging process.

cheers,
