New to Google Checkout and need to have information sent back to s

I am new to Google checkout and need to setup after a users
pays to
have some information goto a page on our site that will
generate an
unlock code. Information that is needed is the users email,
name,
product ID and product description . I have been reading
some of the
documentation and I think I have to use the notification
API. Am I on
the correct path?
