Im implementing the API system and want to make sure several
things
happen

#1: Does google checkout allow me to not show google as my
merchant?
Such as i can use my ssl cart without google asking for
login info or
for details on each customer through google sign up.

#2 Does google send an email to the customer with a custom
api?

#3 is there anything i need to be aware of that im not with
similar
instances of how the api works pertaining to my questions
above?

The Merchant sets up what name they want a customer to use,
Suppose
they have a real store, they then do not want to use their
Internet
Store name and choose for customers to be billed from their
real store
name. The Merchant also controls how a customer is to
respond like
password protection enabled is a option they have available
and the
Merchant mayhave to send them a email with the password so
they may
shop so each time they shop they must use the password, its
really a
precaution. API is used by the Merchant only, it sets the
capability
of his site to enable customer Checkout with specific Google
Buttons,
customers don't have a need of a API unless they are partner
of the
Merchant site and the Merchant must approve their
partnership and
obtain a API to send them or apply the API themselves so
they may
post, add products, remove products, edit etc.. Last
question depends
on how you intend to obtain a API and from what store you
intend to
use it, theres no other purpose of API's, they can be
converted to
Certificates and installed on a computer, this makes it
easier to
manage a store service.

#1: no, the buyer must sign in at the google checkout page

#2: you have no control over the messages gcheckout sends
"by itself",
but you have a way to send the buyer messages about your
orders using
the send-buyer-message tag:

http://code.google.com/apis/checkout/developer/Google_Checko
ut_XML_API_Tag_Reference.html#tag_send-buyer-message

cheers,
