plugin_whitelist, how to determine the CLSID
user name
2006-04-04 12:36:30
Hello,
I am not able to use the white_list feature for plug-ins.
Either I determine the CLSIDs the wrong way or I put them in
wrong.
I badly need a description on how to achieve this, since our
company
has the disallow plugins policy enabled but now wants to a
allow a
certain one.

Thanks
Michael

plugin_whitelist, how to determine the CLSID
user name

Ok, found it myself - finally.
Here is what I did:
-installed the plugin on a system without
"disallow_plugins"
-found the plugin dll in C:\Program Files\Google\Google
Desktop Search
-opened regedit and searched in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\
for the plugin
dll name
-the parent folder name with the hex numbers is the CLSID
value

The CLSID value has to be entered in the GPE with the
parenthesis.
