1) Realtime (or near-realtime) Radar/Satellite Feeds for
weather/cloudcover information. With effort and imagination,
this could
eventually be expanded into real-time 3D-rendered clouds,
precipitation
rendering, and even maintains the potential for future
weather
forecasting. No more need for the weather channel or for
meteorologists when you have Google Earth... How cool would
that be?

2) Realtime Commercial Airplane Flight Tracking including
accurate
speed modeling, accurate 3D aircraft models, proper altitude
and
vector, current flight time, estimated time of arrival,
etcetera...
Including flown path, projected path... I know that have
something
similiar at this point in time, but the sprite airplane
logos are
abysmal and the vectors are all messed up and cumbersome.
It's also
not modeled real-time (would be great to be able to zoom in
on a moving
airplane and see the world from its moving birds-eye view).

3) Easy and inexpensive-to-integrate GPS-enabled networks
that can be
utilized by bus lines, passenger trains-perhaps even
someday, taxi
cabs, even to the extend where meddling parents can watch
where the
family car goes when their son goes out on a date. Also
this can be
used by companies for tracking of company vehicles and
assets, giving
details on speed, direction, and even location history. All
could show
information regarding current and past GPS location,
destination, even
rates, and so on and so forth.

4) Fed-EX, USPS, and UPS package-tracking number
integration-to show
where your packages are located (and when and where they
were shipped,
including the estimated ETA).

5) IP-Address integration into Google Earth, including
Traceroutes
(tracerts) to quickly identify the location of any IP
addresses or
resolved IP's (and the nodes along the way), perhaps even
with the
phone number/email address/WHOIS information of nodes that
may be
offline or disrupted so IT administrators know who to
contact when
something goes down or is acting awry... Also this would be
great for
finding out who might calling you from VOIP and where they
are
located...

6) When you finally found the perfect hotel to stay at,
click on the
phone number and... Pow! Integrated Free VOIP to land-based
phone
lines (or, if you prefer the more simple route, the link
opens up your
favorite VOIP software and starts to automatically dial out
so you can
make your reservations incredibly painlessly). I would marry
Google if
it did this for me.

7) How about the ability to cache commonly-visted or local
areas to my
Hard Drive if I so wish? Make sure that it only cache's my
most
favorite areas so that my hard drive space isn't wasted...
And also
allow me to specify how much % of me harddrive space I'd
like to
dedicate to said cache. Also give me to option as to what I
want
cached.. Let it be satellite imagery, buildings/building
textures,
ground height, roads.. You get the point

8) Give ratings on user-placed bookmarks so that bad
bookmarks die off
and good bookmarks rise to the top. Also find a way to cull
all the
terrible, outdated, and duplicate bookmark entries that
taint the
Google Earth experiance. Categorization of users' custom
bookmarks
would also be a plus so that I could filter the user
bookmarks down to
what I want: whether it be military bases, sites of
historical
significance, tourist spots, etc... And allow me to view
2-star-rated
and above bookmarks, or perhaps 3-star-rated and above
bookmarks...
This way user have the ability to find the categorazation
and
popularity/quality level they really desire.

9) Have a Google Earth "Unwrap" ability to lay
the globe out in a
variety of ways that is flat and always facing north.
And/or, you
could have a setting where you can lock north as always
being "north"
when spinning the globe... As it can sometimes be a
disorienting pain
to re-align yourself to north.

10) Expand Google Earth to a Google "Solar
System." Map the planets,
their locations, true star locations... All relative to
Eath.
Something similar to the Starry Night Program... Which is
extremely
powerful, by the way... Where you can see a virtual look
into the sky
to point out constellations, solar/lunar eclipses or other
celestial
events, the location of the planets in relation to Earth...
And you
can even "fly" out to near-earth stars and see
their actual location in
a virtual galaxy.

11) Map satellites whos orbit path is known to the public
domain-even
the location of interesting things such as the ISS and space
shuttles
(when they don't have duct tape and foam falling off of
them).

12) Three words: Near Earth Collisions. Connect with the
already-public NASA database on potential near-earth
asteroids and MAP
them. Map the complex orbits of as many asteroids as NASA
has found.
Enthrall the public by rendering all the near-earth
asteroids barely
missing Earth every year. You KNOW you want to..

13) Try to develop a better way to more seamlessly patch
together the
satellite images. Color correction, perhaps, or other ways
to make the
satellite images look more "natural" and
realistic from higher up.

14) Game integration. Allow for Google Earth to be used as
a platform
for up-coming flight simulators and the like... Allowing for
your
imagery/height information to be downloaded and rendered in
custom game
engines that aren't build off of Google Earth technology
at all, but
insteady, borrowing "content" from Google and
transplanting them
directly into the game... And benefit by charging royalties.

15) Tap into the maps depicting the depth of lakes and
rivers, and then
find the actual relative "surface" height of the
water as reported by
local agencies... This could eventually be used as a tool
for seeing
"floodplains" and for rendering actual 3D water
depth in likes and
rivers (and maybe eventually, oceans).

16) Have businesses create/pay for textured buildings as a
means of
"standing out." That's a good incentive for
developers to pay a small
fee for someone with the skill to texture their shiny new
buildings for
the world to take notice.

17) Give an incentive for CAD designers to export their home
designs to
Google Sketch-up... And have a database of CAD designs out
there for
generic homes. Simply find the right model of your home,
bring it up
in Google Sketch-up, apply brick/siding/paint that matches
your home,
maybe some matching shutters... And plop a perfect copy of
your home
right on top of the satellite image of your home.

You'd have to register your address, first, and the
satellite images
would have to match up for the most part... Not sure how
you'd deal
with people trying to break the system and plopping down the
wrong
model of homes randomly in their neighborhood to make their
neighborhood more "pretty"... Or people
purposely plopping down their
home as the wrong model. That would be really difficult to
regulate.

18) .... I'm done. Thanks for reading, and thanks again
for your kind
consideration of what I wrote... Rest assured I actually put
some
thought into it. Google Earth is such a great program, and
its amazing
how much potential it really has to become THE definitive
program in
the 21st century that everyone uses on a regular basis.

Thank you for shearing lots of interesting Ideas and
application. It is
amazing to see how GE will influence our life in the near
future and
bring more productivity in work.

I'm thinking along the way how developing countries can
take advantage
of Google Earth for their planning, Education and
monitoring the
development activities. More ideas in this line would be
highly
appreciated.

Hi

What is a virtual look into the sky? Is it possible to visit
any site
for for more on this matter? Or will you send me information
directly
to my Email? I am interested in point no. 10.

I have been told that you can now visit Mars through GE.
Cool isn't
it!!
You need to get the KMZ file from the community.
