GoogleGroupSpam

Spam - in newsgroups, is something I'v never complained
about before, I
tend to think folk overreact when someone mentions a web
site
 In the normal course of going through any Group, I have no
problem
with anyone mentioning their web site to help get some
visitors to it,
and hate it when they are condemed by other group members!
They really
need to cool off and get a better definition of what Spam
is!
However .........
  having just browsed through this Google Earth group, what
I define as
spam is just what I see in here!  and surprised to see so
much!!  this
is "Google Earth", and here I see so many trying
to pull me in to  "Win
Big at Casinos"-"How to make more money" -
"want an income of 20,000" -
"real money making home biz".".. etc etc
....
these ARE  true spam in my opinion...   and I am surprised
it's not all
dealt to and deleted from this group?   someone should be
able to clean
this group up.

The owner of the group might be able to create a filter to
stop it.  I 
sent email to the group owner and google itself the second
day it flared 
up.  I also created a filter that deleted any mail
containing 'lowads' 
in the subject or sender.  It worked for one of us, because
it's been 
peaceful for quite a while now.
