Sailing Race in the Aegean Sea - View it in Google Earth

EXPERIENCE THE AEGEAN RALLY FROM THE SKIPPER'S SEAT!!!

     Telematix honors its annual meeting with sailing fans
and
provides, once more, live coverage for the 43rd Aegean
Rally. Our
extensive know how and advanced tracking technology
facilitates the
live coverage, of this prestigious race, via the internet,
for the last
4 years. The leading offshore race in Greece is organized by
HORC with
stop-overs in Amorgos, Samos and Chios. The race starts on
July 14th
2006 at 16:00 Greek Time.

     All the vessels are equipped with a satellite tracking
device
(GPS) and transmit their positions, in real time, via GSM.
These
messages are picked up by Telematix's servers and are
displayed on
maps for the viewing pleasure of sailing aficionados at

     Every year Telematix is offering cutting edge
technology and novel
functionalities to the users of the web site. This year's
key
features include:

     - Displaying the position and route of vessels on
satellite maps
courtesy of Google Maps
     - A link that allows 3D depiction of the race via the
popular
Google Earth application. This puts fans in the shoes of the
captain
and the crew of each boat, providing an exciting new way for
sailboat
race coverage!
     - Photographs and videos taken by the crews of the
boats as they
race through the Aegean Sea.
