Can't open PHP-generated KML from GE

Hi.

I've got a script in PHP that generates proper KML files.
When I click
on the link in browser to open the KML, GE starts but can't
open the
file, claiming it doesn't exist in Explorer temporary files
folder. It
really doesn't exist.
If I "Save as" instead of opening the link, the
file opens just fine.

Any suggestions?

Does the link point to a static file on the server, or to a
script that
emits a file at runtime?
The former should work.  The latter may have problems:

You shouldn't emit the kml one string at a time.  Please
just buffer it
and then flush the buffer at the end.

To confirm it is not a file associate issue you may want to
also go to
Start | Control Panel | Tools | Folder Options | File Types|
scroll
down to KML and KMZ, select the Advanced button and click on
Set
Default
