How to detect if Google Earth if installed?

Hi!

I am programming a web page that will give KML landmarks
to our
users. I want to check if the user has Google Earth
installed, if not I
will provide them with the Link to download. What I want to
avoid if
them to have the KML in the browser windows.

Right now, I am using a Flash Detection Javascript, is
there a
similar way to do this for Google Earth?

Thanks in advance!

In my GE remote controller I make a simple check if the GE
exe file is
present in the default location. It's a simple and dirty fix
that works
in 99% of cases. However it does require that you hve access
to the
file system.
