View On Opening Google Earth

Hi,

I live in the UK and when I open Google Earth on my laptop
(running
windows XP) the opening view shows the earth filling the
window and it
'flys' to show the UK in the centre.  However, on my desktop
(running
Windows x64) the opening view is centered on the USA and the
earth
fills only about a quarter of the screen.

I have tried all sorts of things to change the opening view
on my
desktop but nothing seems to work.  I'd be grateful if
somone could
point me in the direction of instructions to alter this
opening view or
provide them in a reply.
