Google Aids Tyranny and Oppression!!!

While watching the (Fox) morning news I noticed that Google
has
released a new version in China.  Great news for Google, but
as I heard

it real bad news for the rest of the world and especially
the People of

China.


The main idea, as presented on Fox News, was that Google has
agreed to
filter results provided to the Chinese People.  The filters
include,
but not limited to, any content on freedom or human rights. 
If this is

true, Google will have started a precedent that could end
the recent
growth and awareness of human rights issues, and aid tyrants
whose only

purpose is to control and manipulate, for their own gain,
the citizens
of their country.  This type of blatant censorship, if true,
goes
against everything any honorable, ethical, and moral person
stands for.



I would appreciate other's views and comments on this issue.

This is a little bit offtopic, but I bite.
It is no so bad for China. If Google don't comply with
Chinese laws
and regulation, Google won't be able to operate in China. In
this
case, chinise people won't be able to access to Google. With
this
censorship, at least they can access to a limited version of
Google,
that is better than no Google at all.

Way off subject, but important to all.  Seems easy to say if
it only
affects the Chinese People.  What are you going to say when
it's you?

If I were under a repressive government, my main
preocupation won't we
the search engine results. After all, companies can't choose
to ignore
the law on the country where they make bussines in.

However, they can choose which countries they operate in. 
Education,
or search results, is the first step to freedom.  Is there a
dollar
value on freedom and human rights?
