Display Search Results in a different Tab/window

I want to know if there is a possibility to display the
search results
in a new Tab/Window (i mean after i press the search buton
and not
after the results are displayed). This way i can keep my
personalized
homepage undisturbed in one of the tabs. One way to
implement is to add
the field target="_blank" in the form
corresponding to the text box and
the search. Can anyone please tell me the necessary coding
to be done
to resolve this issue ?
