I think it would be *sweet* if Google web accelerator in
essence
adopted some of the principles given in my thesis proposal
http:/
/students.cs.byu.edu/~rdp/thesis_all.pdf
which is just a p2p swarming download of large files, if
they exist.
The two things in particular that google web accelerator
should have,
in my opinion, is if a site is "un cacheable"
then it should *always*
just be retrieved from the origin server (otherwise it adds
latency,
right?) and also then the p2p distributed download (similar
to
BitTorrent, but for normal web objects).
I can envision the future when downloading google web
accelerator
presents you with the option 'share your downloads with
others to help
their download speeds' (a check box) which results in truly
fast,
distributed downloads for peers.
What do you think? Anyway I will be testing out my thesis
stuff in the
next 6 months to see if it actually works. It might (see
CoBlitz,
Coral etc.)
Thanks!
