Google Maps API

Hi Im a first time user of Imate Jamin, trying to set up the
GPS. Can
you pls advs how to get an API Key. It asks for my url, I
dont have
one, what should I do? Also do i need to have GPRS activated
for using
GPS. THanks

If you don't have a URL, then that means that you don't
have a web page.
If you don't have a web page, then you can't run Google
Maps API on your
web page.

I can't imagine what connection you think there is between
Google Maps
API and setting up GPS on an Imate Jamin.

I don't know if you can run Google Maps on the browser that
runs on the
Jamin - none of the sources I've looked at will tell me
which web
browser it can run.

This might help.

If you are loading a page with Google Maps directly from the
file
system (i.e. double clicking it in a folder or using
File/Open in the
browser then, I believe, that Google does not check the key.
You can
enter what you like)

If you are submitting the open request to a local web server
on your PC
i.e. http://loca
lhost/somedirectory/myfile.htm then you need a key for
http://localhost domain.

To obtain a key, go to: http://ww
w.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html You
also need to trawl through the API documentation and some
tutorials.
Mike has some on his site.

If, on the other hand, you are hoping to enable your GIS
phone to use
Google Maps then this is the wrong place. This is very much
a tool for
programmers rather than end-users.
