Changed Google image as background, lost all caption buttons

I set a Google image as a background for Christmas, when I
changed it,
I lost all buttons...like the minimize, the box for
mazimize, and the X
for close, no radio buttons appear, no arrows on drop down
windows....what happened...I tried a system restore, still
missing....
