As it is a "yellow" black box, the exact hardware
specification is not
officially communicated and can be changed at any time by
Google
(which happens from time to time).
Unofficially: http://www.informationweek.com/news/sho

"The Google Search Appliance is built with a Dell
PowerEdge 2950 dual
processor Xeon-based server, Google's software and some
yellow paint.
There are no custom internal components"
Also, the servers have a lot of RAM and hard disk space,
with RAID.
The network card supports 10/100/1000 in full duplex, or
auto
negotiation, and is probably the standard one coming with a
PowerEdge.
