Google helpers675- backlinks recorded by google

When I do a backlink search for my site on MSN and Yahoo I
get 150
links.  When I do the same search on Google, it shows only 6
backlinks.
 Can anyone tell me why Google records so much less than the
others and
if anything can be done to get Google to recognise the other
links?

its because google is a smarter search engine.if you have
100 links to
the same page on your site from one site or forum google
counts it as 1
and yahoo will count all the 100. this is to stop bot
generated link
building.if the links points to different pages on your site
that would
be more better for you to rank high in google.

Thanks.  Thats a good point.  I am sure that counts for alot
of the
difference, however, there are still a number of sites with
only one
link to my site that MSN and Yahoo show that google doesnt. 
I still
think your point is a good one and worth implementing when
in forums

sometimes links from low traffic sites are ignored by google
search
engine.when you choose to participate in a forum for link
building
always try to make sure that the forum has a fairly good
traffic. you
can use www.alexa.com for this purpose.links from yahoo
groups etc are
also ignored by google at times.
