No, that's backwards.  On March 11, time jumps forward.  So
if it's 4 pm now, it'll be 5 pm on 3/11.  Setting yourself
for CST and turning DST off will make it *3 pm*.

People in other timezones can do the reverse -- in Chicago,
set your timezone to EST and turn DST off (but you'll have
to un-do it in the fall), but there's no workaround for
EST-based folks.

Much simpler to upgrade.

You are correct, I wasn't thinking. So changing from EST to AST (Atlantic Standard Time) should do the trick, but the problem is there is no Atlantic Standard Time selection. Hmm, well looks like the only other option for EST folks who don't want to upgrade is to deal with a few weeks if incorrect display of time and off manual recordings.
