No, that's
backwards. On March 11, time jumps forward. So if it's 4 pm now, it'll be 5 pm
on 3/11. Setting yourself for CST and turning DST off will make it *3
pm*.
People in other timezones can do the reverse -- in Chicago, set
your timezone to EST and turn DST off (but you'll have to un-do it in the
fall), but there's no workaround for EST-based folks.
Much simpler to
upgrade.
