I have been reading all the posts about TTown and now feel that I
have to jump in.  Shelli, Cassandra, Carol B and Myself attended a
meeting with Jeff regarding some doings at CK.  He explained his side
of the story reagrding some dogs that were euthanized without having
the input of those who were working with them.

This has been the crux of the problem with Jeff for some time. ; He
has for some reason not been effective as a leader and this has
caused much derision and animosity at TT.  He packed his bags and
left TT.

The other issue at TT is the continued presence of Melissa who had
been feeding information to Jeff which in turn caused more problems.
She is a paid employee who works less time than I get in lunch breaks
in a week. She does as little as possible and is always in the way.
She has had those two dogs caged for a few months.  They are placed
in there in the morning and taken for a couple of brief walks (I can
take a potty break in the amount of time that she is walking the
dogs!)during the day.  She them takes them to her tent at night for
her mandatory 10-12 hour sleep cycle.  If that is not animal
abuse????  She also has the bunnies she NEVER socializes and when
Shelli's sister-in-law Karen did socialize them, clean their cage and
feed them she was chastised by Melissa for "doing her job" and to not
do it again.  This is not the first time that this has happened.
Amazing that you get bitched out for doing someone a favor (in this
case the animal) when she wasn'tdoing her job in the first place.
Her ass should have been fired many months ago.  By the way I was
able to do 9 cats in separate cages, the feral cat area, sweep the
floor and do one load of laundry in 1:20 minutes.  Oh, I did have to
give Melissa bunnies water (they must have been thirsty?), too.  I
then wen out to take care of the puppies and then ween back in and
played (socialized) the cats for an hour. ; I was exhausted and needed
to have the rest of the day off (sic).

The volunteers (Shelli & Elizabeth) need to go HOME. ; They are not
effective as they have both been there too long to be objective.  I
admire both of these women for their convictions and strength.  I
could not have done it nor could most of us.  It has been a long hard
road for Elizabeth in particular.  My hat is off to her!

When I went to Tylertown on this trip (Dec 27-Jan 3rd) there was a
different feel to the place.  I discussed this with both Phil and
Carol B.  I still cannot put my finger on it, but suspect that it has
to do with the need for Elizabeth to go home.

As to Pumpkinhead.  I think that the amount of resource expended on
this one animal may place other animals at risk. ; We cannot save them
all.  The obsession with this dog and others once again points out to
me the lack of clear thought and lack of leadership.

I am NOT placing any blame, just puting out there some thoughts.  Try
not to get your undies in a bundle, just sit back and take what I
have said and observed, ruminate it and come to your own
conclusions.

Perhaps Carol and/or Phil could also add to this discussion.

I will continue to assist HSLA as I can.  It still will hold a
special place in my heart along with all of you.  You and your
thoughs are all important and may assist HSLA and TT to survive.

Chuck
