SET INITIAL SCHEMA is supported in the next major version,
not 1.8.0.x. The
usage of this command is per user and determines which
schema is current
when the user is connected.
SET SCHEMA is supported in 1.8.0 and switches the current
schema for the
current user.
There is no SET DEFAULT SCHEMA command
The bug fix release should come out by the end of the
month.
Thanks for the bad link report. I have fixed it.

Subject: [Hsqldb-user] when does SET INITIAL SCHEMA come?
Hi,
I have read in the archive where Fred named the SET INITIAL
SCHEMA.
My question about this: Does the 1.8.0.8 release include the
"SET INITIAL
SCHEMA <schema name>"?
I was wondering about behaviour after SET DEFAULT SCHEMA.
The default schema
after connection is by no means the expected one. What does
the SET DEFAULT
SCHEMA set? The actual schema if you do not set one via SET
SCHEMA? But if
you have to always set the default schema why do not set it
at all?
Or am I wrong?
Related to my first question, I read latest news: "28
July 2007 - Version
1.8.0.8 bug-fix release will be released soon."
My question to this: What does this soon exactly mean?
I can give also a hint for the page content admin (I could
not find the one
responsible for, maybe he/she is reading here):
http://hsqldb.
org/web/hsqlSupport.html links to
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=
2231 which is
"thephpbible-support" and not
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?
forum_name=hsqldb-user ...

Christoph
