Thread: The object tag

The object tag
country flaguser name

I have a lot of trouble using the object tag, and everything I read
about it seems confusing, and often contradictory.

It works in this browser, and it doesn't work in that browser. It's
mime type mid or its mime type midi. You need the classid or you
don't need the classid. And so on and so forth.

Can anyone recommend a lucid description of the object tag and it's
necessary attributes?

I either missed the answer to this or it was never answered. You can find
the info on the object tag and its attributes at:

";An object element can appear inside the head or the body element. The text
between the <object> and </object> is the alternate text, for browsers that
do not support this tag. The <param&gt; tags define run-time settings for the
object."

More info -

HTML object tag:

If you are having problems with media type files, you might want to look at
these sites:

Macromedia Flash OBJECT and EMBED tag syntax:

Flash OBJECT and EMBED tag attributes:
<&lt; http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_12701 >>
Flash Satay: Embedding Flash While Supporting Standards:

HTHs and that I haven't repeated any info others may have given.

Ron
