Hi Chris,
I just got a smoke alarm installed that has a strobe. It is a Gentex-- well,
I can't find the paper work right now to give you the model number. Bob
listed some smoke alarms on his group, BHNews, some time back, and I got one
of them. I think he is on this group also and may chime in.
As to the doorbell, I got an attachment to the existing doorbell from Home
Depot. You wire it to your regular door bell, and it wirelessly transmits to
plug in units. I bought 2 of the units and have one plugged in on one side
of the house and I have the other in my bedroom. It plays the Westminster
chime, and I can hear it even without my aids in. I could not hear the
regular doorbell.
Congratulations on getting the job in Georgia! I know you have been looking
for quite awhile, so I hope this one works out for you.

Hello!
I know I've been gone for a long while but had the group on no email
due to missing emails and rotten delivery by Yahoo...then I got a job
in Georgia (just north of Atlanta- in Duluth). Its a contract job-
its been rough for the last month :( so hoping it will get better but
I don't know...we'll see...).
Anyway- What is a good smoke detector? Preferably one that has a
flasher/strobe. I don't have any systems- well I do but they are very
old and one doorbell set I think I will have to toss anyway. I also
would like a hard wired one- to connect it to the existing one in the
apartment (replace the one they have). Been lazy and THEY actually
asked ME if I had gotten one yet lol. Well we asked about it when I
signed the lease and they said sure no problem! 
anything else y'all would like to suggest let me know. I haven't
found an audio or anything like that yet...prob won't for a while...
