I'm not aware of any ITEs (or other smaller aids like canal aids) with built
in FM). Maybe there's something out there, but I doubt it.

Some (ITEs) have telecoils, so with them, you can use neckloops (or other
loops) and these can be used with personal FM ALDs, but that's not as
convenient as the integrated FM now available in BTEs.

Those personal FM ALDs include traditional FM ALDs like Comtek or PhonicEar
(or Williams) are walkman sized transmitter/receivers capable of driving a
neckloop.

Smaller FM/Telecoil supporting systems like the Conversa and the new Phonak
MyLink are also available. These use FM for transmission, but still rely on
Telecoils for interfacing to the hearing aid. Personally, that wouldn't
thrill me, since some of the main benefits of integrated FM is freedom from
electromagnetic interference and from head position variations.

But with all the new, smaller and stylish BTEs (I'm thrilled that some aids
don't even COME anymore in that disgusting "flesh" color) including the new
micro BTEs and open fittings, why would you want an ITE? Any ITE big enough
to incorporate FM (at least with today's technology) and even those with
telecoils would most likely be large enough to be much more visible and much
less "fashionable" than the new BTEs.

Hi All,

Does anyone have any info on ITEs and FM System compatibility--either
first hand or otherwise. Thank you!
