I just got a new Oticon 380P to replace the one I lost. They are powerful hearing aids and it cost me $1,080 which include the earmold and 2 year warrantee, and one time replacement if I lost it. I've used analog hearing aids for 20 years. I've always preferred analog HA's because speech is louder and clearer. Digital aids never seemed to provide enough amplification for me and speech tended to sound distorted. I've also had better luck in the repair department with analogs. I currently have a 15 year old pair of Oticon 380P analogs that have not required a single repair and are still working perfectly to this day. My Oticon DigiFocus II's, on the other hand, have required two repairs since they were purchased in 2001. You can still get them... Thanks goodness. They are the best that I ever had. They had me try a new type of ear molds (New to me that is) and now I can increase the volume all the way up. With my old ear mold, I couldn't set it passed 2 (half way) before my hearing aids start to whistling. David, You're right...the Oticon 380Ps are very strong aids. I'm glad the new earmold is now allowing you to get more benefit out of them. (I remember you mentioning that awhile ago.) Sometimes it may take awhile for us to find the right combination of what works (earmold, programming change), but once we do, it can make a world of difference in what we hear. For instance, my digital aid was reprogrammed so that it works "in tune" with my CI. Instead of the two signals (CI and HA) competing against each other, I now have a real sense of binaural hearing and am understanding speech better because of it. Lisa ------------------------ Yahoo! David, I didn't know the 380P's were still available. I have two of them (both are programmed for my right ear).
