Subject: GREAT HDTV Article Coming Up!
I received my September / October issue of Hearing Loss magazine
yesterday.
Inside, there was the Mother of articles on captions and HDTV
accessibility, by Larry Goldberg.
Larry was part of the development team for the digital captioning system
and the inventor of Rear Window Captioning for theaters.
He is the director of the Media Access Center at WGBH in Boston.
His 5 page article, "When Good Captions Go Bad: HDTV Accessibility is a
winner - and will be of interest to all!
So, I wrote to Barbara Kelley, Hearing Loss Editor at HLAA, asking for
permission to reprint the article on bh News.
Always helpful, Barb did one better. She is going to have Larry's work
posted on the HLAA website for ALL to Benefit !
Can't ask for anything more than that!
She promised to let me know as soon as it's up on the site .
