My new replacement earmold is very tight fitting. In the
past I've used
"Eargene" solution which made insertion of the
mold much easier and more
comfortable but now I'm out. What lubricants do you use
if any? One hearing tech
told me "cold cream"! <gasp> I don't
think cream is good, or is it? I could
order more Eargene but wondered if there's something I
could buy and have
immediately?
Cathy

Cathy,

Good earmold, like good shoes should be snug, but never
tight. If it's
tight (or worse, VERY tight) it typically means the lab
built the impression
too much.

As much of a pain it is (less than a too tight mold), I
would have anew
impression taken and ask the audiologists or dispenser to
request "Minimal
waxing" from the lab.

An accurate snug mold will feel and seal better than an
inaccurate tight
mold.
