There is no "cure" for deafness, at any age.
There are cochlear implants
which can allow you to hear, but you're still deaf without
them, so that's
not exactly a "cure".
Cochlear implants normally work best on people who used to
hear, and learned
a spoken language early in their lives, and they also
usually work very well
for children who are implanted early (before they would
normally develop a
spoken language. But, they can also be a big help for
children who are
older than that, so your 5 year old child may be a potential
cochlear
implant candidate.
Adult who were deaf from birth (or before they learned a
spoken language)
have been implanted and they usually can hear sounds, but
it's much more
difficult for them to then learn to understand spoken words
with a cochlear
implant. Much depends on how much support they have in
helping them to
learn to understand spoken words. For them, it's not a
simple transition,
but it would probably still be much easier (though not a
trivial task) for a
5 year old.

and you'll find thousands of things about cochlear
implants.
One of the things you'll find is that they are expensive,
(in the US,
usually about $50,000 for one). Usually only one is
implanted, but more and
more, people are being implanted bi-laterally.
