Hi there,
Please help answer this question. The original requester is cc'ed.
======
I have a dynamite one-button procedure in place (made up of command
files, a little scripting, and command-line Producer) that our Faculty
really want to use. In a nutshell, it records video/audio from a
camera, rips it to the Real server, cuts a web page, and emails the
subject with the URL he can use to view the outcome, all in moments.
(It does other things, too that aren't very interesting.) A typical
application will record 100 to 150 different subjects a day, one after
another. It's a terrific little utility.
It works perfectly well on my desktop platform (Gateway DP, blah, blah,
blah) but it does not work with our general hardware platform: Gateway
laptops, Model TA6. The laptops are critical to our use - everyone has
one, and the portability is very important.
I am aware of the prefilter issue with Firewire which makes the audio
unusable, so I use the audio card and it works on the desktop machine,
however it appears to be incommpatible with the laptops. I get a fatal
0x006e006f error when starting Producer. Error log available.
If I can get this working we will bump up our Real server license about
ten-fold.
IS THERE ANY work-around or in-house code to make firewire work
(unlikely?) or to accomodate the audio port on the laptop? Someone will
have to point me to how I even know exactly what audio hardware we
have. (I'm that dim.)
=======
Thanks,
Kinson
