I bet this is simply an issue of an audio card clock on the
encoding box
being "off". Producer measures time by the
audio clock/sample rate and thus
a fast clock might result in more samples than expected in
the time period
and the video ending up being longer. I'm actually
surprised there are not
synch issues in the resulting media. If the issue is an
audio clock, I would
expect to see the audio being out-of-synch, getting worse
over time.
