Thanks again for the prompt reply. 
I tried to play the avi file (in consideration), with
RealPlayer(win32)

Build: 6.0.12.1056
Distribution: RN30BB

The file played successfully.
According to the logs, I found out that by tracing the flow,
the avi stream
never reaches the state, "AS_STRLScanDone" [as
mentioned in Aviffpln.h].
**Is that due to improper parsing of the Avi file tags?
I therefore tried with a few more avi files with different
codecs, but the
result was yet the same.
I had tried to force m_state to "AS_STRLScanDone"
[in the function
RIFFGetChunkDone,within Aviffpln.cpp], but output again was
:
"HX_ASSERT failed: (m_ulMOVIOffset)... File
aviffpln.cpp, Line 1420
Aborted"
Below is the whole log of the forced m_state
[m_state=AS_STRLScanDone], for
your reference.
I'm unable to pinpoint the cause of the failure. Any help in
this regard
would be much appreciated. Also, any suggestions on how to
proceed for the
same.
