Hi  greg,

      I have used "all_clients-hxclient_1_5_0_cayenne-20071126"; to build splay, just by doing 'make' in it. how to select a profile in it? I guess i have all defines in  it.  The file ,  ~/.helix/HelixSDK_10_0 has these settings :

 autotransport=1
sendstatistics=1
attemptrtspvmulticast=1
attemptrtspvudp=1
attemptrtspvtcp=1
attemptrtspvhttp=1
rtspproxysupport=1
rtspproxyhost=192.168.20.1
rtspproxyport=554
attemptpnavmulticast=1
attemptpnavudp=1
attemptpnavtcp=1
attemptpnavhttp=1
pnaproxysupport=0
pnaproxyhost=
pnaproxyport=1090
httpproxysupport=1
httpproxyhost=192.168.20.1
httpproxyport=8000
usersdkdatapath=/root/.helix/
bandwidth=10485800
maxbandwidth=10485800

I get this error :

linux:/home/maruthi/all_clients-helix-20071126/debug # ./splay rtsp://pubint-ksje.wm.llnwd.ne
Simpleplayer is looking for the client core at ./hxmedpltfm.so
opening rtsp://pubint-ksje.wm.llnwd.net/pubint_ksje on player 0
Report(3, -2147221293, "rtsp://pubint-ksje.wm.llnwd.net/pubint_ksje";, 0, "(NULL)", "HXR_PROXY_NET_CONNECT";).

As such  iam unable to receive rtsp streams.  If i have to build with something enabled, can u help with it ,plz.   And what should i do if idont want want rtsp over http i.e., without cloaking?

Regards,
maruthi

I imagine that WiMP is using HTTP cloaking (RTSP over HTTP). This is
common in getting around firewalls. If you were using the RealPlayer
for Linux it would just be in the preferences dialog. In your case
you are using splay so you first need to make sure you build it
with          defined. If you built with the
helix-client-all-defines profile then it is, if not you need to
check it. Then look for these prefs:

hxcleng.cpp:        CreatePrefIfNoExist("AttemptRTSPvMulticast", "1");
hxcleng.cpp:        CreatePrefIfNoExist("AttemptRTSPvUDP", "1");
hxcleng.cpp:        CreatePrefIfNoExist("AttemptRTSPvTCP", "1");
hxcleng.cpp:        CreatePrefIfNoExist("AttemptRTSPvHTTP", "1");
hxcleng.cpp:        CreatePrefIfNoExist("AttemptPNAvMulticast", "1");
hxcleng.cpp:        CreatePrefIfNoExist("AttemptPNAvUDP", "1");
hxcleng.cpp:        CreatePrefIfNoExist("AttemptPNAvTCP", "1");
hxcleng.cpp:        CreatePrefIfNoExist("AttemptPNAvHTTP", "1");

or just make sure that "autotransport=1" and it should just
default to it.
