Thank you for your reply.
 I had already done the editing of the Umakefil in the
datatypecommonvidrend directory, with the change you have
mentioned...
I also have got both the so files, log.so and
logobserverfile.so created in
the "release" folder after doing the build.
I have put these two files, along with other .so files and
"splay" in the
same directory and tried playing an mp4 file with splay.
Without the 2 so files, log.so and logobserverfile.so, the
video plays
fine. But on including those 2 files, I'm getting a
segmentaion fault.
Pls. suggest a method to overcome this problem. Any
suggestions are
welcome.
