why a content (h263 contained in avi) can't playback by splay@atlas310 ?

In datatype/avi/fileformat, if it encounters
a stream in an .avi file with the 'vids' stream type and
the 'H263' handler, then it will use
"video/X-RN-3GPP-H263" 
as the MimeType for that stream. (See the code in
datatype/avi/fileformat/avistrm.cpp around line 659.)

This mime type should cause the mp4 video renderer
to be selected.

To diagnose the problem, we should first verify that 
the mp4 video renderer is properly being selected and
that the right video decoder is being chosen.

Probably the easiest way to do this is for you to
file a bug and attach the problem .avi file 
to the bug.
