Dear all,
;         We have licensed the Helix source code about RealMedia. However,
;         the RealMedia was first release in 1997 and as of 2006 is at version 10 (RealPlayer 10).
           ;         There are various version for RealVideo(RV10, RV20, RV30, RV40) and RealAudio(RealAudio 1, 2, ¡K..)
;         which are packaged in a RealMedia (or RMVB).  The "RealFormat SDK" is used to develop our project.
;         My question is that is the RM container parser (RealFormatSDK_1_0_0)  can support most of the
;         .rm and .rmvb file even if an very old .rm file which may be encoded in 1998. Or, it can not support the old

;         .rm and .rmvb file because the container parser can not backward compatible the old .rm file.

           ;         Thanks

Best Regards

The RealFormat SDK supports the RealMedia format as defined
in
the documentation of the RealFormat SDK. There is indeed a
legacy
format from around the 1995 timeframe which pre-dates the
RealMedia
format, and the RealFormat SDK does not support that format.
This
is sometimes referred to as the old .ra format. (Even though
newer
encoders sometimes write out to a .ra file but these .ra
files are
in the regular RealMedia format).

But content created around 1998 should have been in the
RealMedia format, which the RealFormat SDK should support.
