Hi Eric,
Please find the updated diff and source code. I have made
all the
changes suggested by you 1-5 and 7.

I'm Ok with making them negative defines (xxx_DISABLE_CACHE,
etc.).
You're right that if we made them positive we would have to
make sure we
included them in all applicable profiles.
