Excellent question for the datatype dev list since that's
where file format
related work is done.
Since it's a well understood open spec, it is an excellent
candidate for
someone new to the community looking for a way to contribute
to jump in and
help.
I've not seen MP2TS support on any of the community roadmaps
or requested
features.
