Hi,
I have some clips whose actual duration is about 2s, but
Helix shows the
duration of the clips as 25s. The behaviour is that video
and audio are
played out for 2s followed by almost 23s of silence. I ran
the clips
through dumpster and the mdhd atom for audio has
Time scale: 11025
Duration: 25600
According to the spec 14496-12 ISO base media file format
for the mdhd
atom timescale can be any number. Therefore total duration
of audio
would be Duration/Time scale.
Taking this into account the duration of audio should be
2.3s. It looks
like Helix is not taking into account the time scale in the
atom and
reporting the total duration of 25s (i.e time scale of
1000).
This problem is seen on splay and symbianmmf for the Cayenne
branches,
both 210s and 150.
For any clip where the time scale is not 1000, the duration
is showing
up incorrectly. How does Helix calculate the duration of the
clip? Do we
not read the Time scale for the mdhd atom or just assume
that it is
always 1000?
Thanks
Sunitha
