Silence when playing RAM streams

I to have this problem. I have realplayer v10.0.8.805 , and
I have made an edit to /usr/bin/realplay
.... 

   
  while /bin/true; do                                   
        # Restart the player if exit code is 10
      /usr/bin/aoss $REALPLAYBIN "$"  
      
        if [ $? -ne 10 ]; then                           



without that little edit realplayer is laggy and jurkey,
both the video/sound and controls. Also the
volume slider does not work without the edit. 


Anyway I'm able to here mp3 files of my computer and the
play fine, execpt for some clicking noises. 
     
          

When it comes to streaming media the video will play just
fine but there is no sound, its the same
for audio streams.
Theres no error message, video is playing, and the slider is
moving all indicating that it is playing.
 
               

I have tested this in both the firefox plugin and the
standalone player; in both streaming media
will not produce audio, yet in the standalone  player it
will play audio files off my computer just
fine.
