Summary: Noisy 6-channel Ogg Vorbis audio
playback
Project: player
Version: 10.0.8.805
Hardware: x86
Operating System: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: cayenne
Severity: S2
Priority: TRIAGE
Tracker: Bugs
AssignedTo: TRIAGE
ReportedBy: dyek

There is a very high level of noise in playing back
6-channel Ogg Vorbis audio content.
It is unclear if this is a codec issue or Helix engine
downmixing issue. If it is the codec issue,
the codec needs to be updated and then repro this again.
It is also unclear if this is a bug handled by the core
team, or the player team. Splay builds don't
seem to include Ogg codecs, but confirmation is needed.
REPRO STEPS:
1. Download the sample audio files from here:
ftp://ling.lll.hawaii.edu/pub/greg/gt-demo.tar.gz
2. Play gt-demo/ambient.ogg
"OBSERVED" BEHAVIOR:
Heavy noise level is heard and lots of Assert messages are
shown.
This doesn't happen with other media players.
