I have an opportunity for a Sr. Unix Administrator in Wilsonville. This is a long term contract position that will last 18 months or more. Please get back to me if you would like to discuss.
Position Objective:
The Sr. Unix Systems Administrator will be responsible for support, planning, designing, acquisition, configuration, implementation, and systems management of complex client and server systems.
Essential Functions:
· Provide technical support for Solaris and Linux server operating systems, utility software and system services including backup and restore, highly available solutions, network file systems, mail, and printing.
· Evaluates and recommends hardware and software systems, develops technical integration plans, and communicates project schedules.
· Responsibilities also include interfacing hardware and software with open TCP/IP networks, integrating distributed systems, disaster recovery processes, Internet/Intranet and global 24x7 system operation.
Qualifications Desired:
· (8) years of hands on experience with Sun Solaris 8, 9 and 10 server operating environment administration, installation, configuration, performance analysis and tuning.
· Equal experience with Sun currently supported server hardware platforms.
· (5) years of hands-on practical production Linux operating environment administration, installation, configuration, performance analysis and tuning.
· Hands-on expertise with highly available enterprise SAN solutions, fabrics and Veritas Volume management.
· Experience in operating environment backup, restore and disaster recovery processes, most desirably with Veritas NetBackup version 5 and above.
· Experience with high availability Unix systems, most preferable with VCS.
· Knowledge and experience with software (open and proprietary) package builds, installation and configuration.
· Ability to write or modify shell and Perl scripts to resolve performance problems and automate systems administration tasks.
· Willingness to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.
