Network Test Technician - Linux/FreeBSD focus

 

The results of these tests are used to improve products, retool if necessary, and quantify market-readiness of network connection designs.

 

Execute tests on network interface cards (NICs) and LAN on motherboards (LOM). Tests are predefined and mostly automated. Consultant will launch test scripts, monitor test progress and analyze test results. Testing will be performed mostly with Linux/FreeBSD Operating Systems with some SCO5/UnixWare 7 OS.

 

Timeliness, positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Understanding of TCP/IP. Layer 2 networking knowledge. Experience with installing Linux or FreeBSD Operating System s. Experience with installing NICs and their drivers in a Linux environment. Comfortable with swapping components such as hard drives in and out of computer chassis. Ability to handle repetitious tasks.

 

Familiarity with gigabit switches.
