I am trying to use code to change the RecordSource to
another table,
and I can't seem to get it to work. I am using a combobox
as input to
try to change tables, and I am using ADO. How do I get this
to work?

Good Morning dbussep3.....

Welcome to Professor Smiley's Discussion List.

Are you using Classic VB-6, or is it VB dot Net ?
Are you filling a grid with the table contents ?
Are you using data-bound controls ?
Which controls ?

Either way, a web site that you might find to be
of great use is:
                 www.VB-Helper.com

Search on: datagrid or ADODC or ADO

BTW, do you have a name that you use ?

All The Best,
Steve

Hi Again,

I sent that previous e-mail too quickly...

Here is a specific page that might help you:

( my search term was: recordsource )

h
ttp://vb-helper.com/howto_get_datagrid_values.html

..where they say this:

"Display data in a DataGrid control and see what cell
is selected"

"The following code shows how to bind a DataGrid
control to an ADODC
(ADO Data Control). First, select the Project menu's
Components command.

Find the Microsoft ADO Data Control and the Microsoft
DataGrid Control
entries, and select them. Now set the ADODC's ConnectString
and
RecordSource properties to connect the ADODC to the
database.

Set the DataGrid's DataSource property to the ADODC."

At the bottom of the page you can download
the entire project ( small ) as a zipped folder.

Feel free to ask about that process
if you have not done that before.

All The Best,
Steve
